There's a fawn that's lost in the darkness. I was that fawn yearning for the revelation of love...for wholeness, belonging and purpose.
How do we face our pain and walk out of our darkness, when it's easier to stay in our familiar brokenness?
There are no easy answers. No three steps to freedom. No self-help miracle. Our best efforts fail us. Our illusions shatter into dust.
We can't perform good enough to make it. In fact, there's nothing you or I could ever do, not in a million years, to earn or deserve, one single iota of God's free gift of grace. All we can do is to receive it. The love of God totally breaks down the walls through Jesus. God makes a way where there was no way. Here and now for you and for me.
In fact Jesus says the most power words ever written: "Come to me all who are weary and heavy burdened, and I will give you rest." He's not speaking to people who've got it all together. Nobody does. He's speaking to you and me, to real people, people with real needs. He's calling us, the broken, the wounded, the weak, the poor, the hurt, the diseased. He's calling to the outcast, the homeless, to those of us, living on the margins of society.
And Jesus says, Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
So enter into His Presence now. Few words are needed. He loves you and wants to fellowship with you...Being to Being. "Be still and know that I Am God..."
Soak in the silence, rest, and peace of his presence, as sitting with a old friend.
Let's pray:
Father as we enter into your presence, drive far from us all the snares of the enemy, and cover us with your light and glory in the face of Jesus Christ our Lord. Hold us in the warm hold of your love and shelter us in the stillness of your glory. We worship and adore you, and we rest in your presence, Oh Lord our Lord and Father. Our heart finally finds it's rest in you. In Jesus we come. Amen.
