"A cheerful heart is good medicine." Proverbs 17:22
Be sure to take your medicine.
As a deer pants for water, we thirst for living water. Jesus has said that He is the Living Water. As He turned water into wine, and fed over 5,000 people with five fish and one loaf of bread, His miracles give us a glimpse of what Living Water means. As the woman at the well was invited to have water that would never give out, and as Christ told her that she had been married five times, her heart changed and she believed. She RAN to tell the other people in the village. She was not so hardened by life to ignore this man. Instead she listened, and received Living Water.
We seek Living Water as well. Our thirst for God is like diving into a pool of living water that flows through our lives, then overflows and spills out to others. It is this thirst that thrives in the celebration of God, in the dance of our lives. Our dance with God is like an artisan spring, gushing and overflowing with fresh, restorative life.
Do we fail? Do we fall and totally blow it? Absolutely. We all fail. You and me. That's why we practice eternal life. We begin by turning our heart toward God...returning to the springs of life.
Jesus says: "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give your rest. Take my yoke on you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Matthew 11:28-29.
