Spiritual Tip: It's Progress Not Perfection

Our spiritual life is a process of progress not perfection. Leave the perfection up to God.
You see, when we receive Jesus, we receive eternal life. We don’t earn it. It isn’t a gift reserved for us when we die. Jesus did for us what we could never do for ourselves.
Our job is to dwell in Jesus and work out what God has worked within us. This is what spiritual discipline is all about…Allowing the Holy Spirit to grow the eternal life of God in our lives. We can choose to limit or expand what God does in our lives.
So for us, our spiritual life is about making progress, day by day, not a matter of getting it perfect.
As God is love, love is the determining factor of God’s work. Everything else: Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control grow together in Love as one fruit, one expression, the character of God. Everything else follows or flows out of God’s love for and through us.
Jesus new commandment is to “love each other just as He loves us.” This is the evidence the world sees that we are Jesus disciples.
Spirituality is always an inside out process. It’s the outworking of God’s love for us through Jesus Christ.
Love is the preeminent evidence of God’s eternal life within us.
And getting this worked out into our lives is a spiritual process, not getting it perfect out the gate.
